The Year of the Pandemic

We don’t have to say much before there is at least a 90% agreement that the past 14-15 months has been one of the worst periods any of us have lived through. The class of 1965 abandoned our monthly lunches after February 2020. I personally grew tired of putting yet another picture on the “In Memory” page. Since the beginning we have lost 12 of our classmates. A few died of Covid, or complications. Others were taken by cancer. All were equally devastating.

It seems now that we are seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel. That brings us to getting the monthly lunches started again. I will be talking to Rodney’s Restaurant to set up lunch for June 17th beginning around 11:30. I would appreciate it if you could reply by email or by replying to the blog on the website. I will need a count on how many will be attending.

In closing, the classmates we lost over the last 15 months were:

  • Diane Kennell Smetak, April 5, 2020
  • Michael Shivey, April 6, 2020
  • Wayne Davis, May 20, 2020
  • Linda Adams Johnston, August 16, 2020
  • Don Morrison, August 29, 2020
  • Judy Findle Martin, September 6, 2020
  • Raymond Eichelberger, September 9, 2020
  • Alex Cantini, November 30, 2020
  • Sharon Little Yoder, January 26, 2021
  • Sharon Gardner Robinson, February 17, 2021
  • Leslie Harvath, March 31, 2021
  • Dick Lobaugh, May 19, 2021

Rest In Peace Friends
